What can I see?
Dreams do come true.
The Earth Portal launched on April 27 as first key component of the Digital Universe -- an unprecedented effort to organize the sum total of human knowledge and make it available to everyone.
It is also the realization of a dream inspired by people such as Jane Goodall, Bob Corell, and Rita Colwell, former Director of the National Science Foundation and recent winner of the National Medal of Science.
Over 800 actively contributing scientists and thirty six of the leading NGO's in the field, have come together with a common focus and a commitment to non-profit governance, editorial integrity, and leadership.
Partners like the American Institute of Physics, the University of California Museum of Paleontology, TeacherServe ®, the U.S. Geological Survey, the International Arctic Science Committee, the World Wildlife Fund, and the United Nations Environment Programme, to name just a few, have also contributed their most valuable content, peer reviewed papers and research.
